Because our 24/7 news media can’t actually do journalism, CNN, MSNBC, FOX and others have all just helped ruin someone’s life because they posted headline pictures of the wrong fucking Ryan Lanza.

Facebook groups calling for his death have already been created. Apparently it’s now open season on anyone named Ryan Lanza.

Omg this is a disaster… I just looked him up and everyone is sharing his pictures straight from his profile angrily… his profile pic has 12,690 shares!!!

Sadly, if he just lost his mom and his brother at the hand of his brother, and is being blamed for this heinous tragedy, he should be on suicide watch. I’m praying for this kid.

Since yesterday, a lot has passed through my mind. I think the death of children will be a topic of conversation if I get to meet the Trinity. Why did children and educators you already daily sacrifice their relationships die? No one can adequately explain to me why children die? I don’t think we are meant to understand mass killings of children. Thus, nor is it anyone’s job to try and explain this. I pity the fool that contemplates such a thing.

This morning, I did the perennial once over of the Nativity story. I realize the Jews may have felt the same way when babies were slaughtered because of a jealous king/ a prophecy. Did those parents believe in the prophecy of the Messiah’s strange arrival before their children died? Did they keep their faith after? I’ve never heard anyone try to tell their side of the story.

I wonder if they saw Him later in life. If they lived to hear or meet him. Did they find some reason behind the madness? Did His ministry alleviate their anguish? Was His victory greater than their pain?

My heart, or the “inside of the inside of me” as my bro used to say, is stifled with questions and overwhelming emotions at the very thought. I’m stuck. and I wanna believe that if/when my unexplainable tragedy strikes that His love will bandage my pain. That His peace will heal my scars. But I barely trust in Him for the little things.

Do we really lean on Him when people use their position in the church to kick/punch instead of being the hands/feet that further The Kingdom?

Or when people are vindictive and manipulative yet smile in your face while deceiving you?
For when its unclear what to do with your loneliness or tendencies of seclusion.
Every time people are careless with our hearts?

I think this is what often sends me back to the drawing board.

Proverbs 3, especially this:

3Do not let kindness and truth leave you;

  Write them on the tablet of your heart.

4So you will find favor and good repute
  In the sight of God and man.

5Trust in the LORD with all your heart
  And do not lean on your own understanding.

Dwell on this idea of “the love of the truth.” How do we “receive” it?
Why is having this love so crucial for anyone who doesn’t want to get caught up in any spiritual deception, especially in the last days? How can we learn, even now, to “receive the love of the truth?”

This is the question posed in the 9.19.12 SDA Qrtly

Well first I must actually take time to think about to what the idea of “the love of truth” is referring. i cant just give a wrought answer.
Is it:
A. God and all that he has to impart on us?
B. All that is pure and right?
C. The reality of what is to come and what God would have us do with that information?
D. All of the above?

I still Dunno… after all that. I still need to think. It really stirs up a lot. My mind is brewing up all the verses and stories and sermons I’ve ever been told. It’s riffling through the concept of purity and truth prevailing over the deceit and wonder of a life of sin. Your love of truth has to be greater than what the world has to offer. and in that right ” the love of the truth” becomes God and his stories that He imparted on those trusted penman of The Bible. The “love of truth” is the the love of His written and physical manifestation of the Word and all He has offered in it. and then in comes the opposition of His truth and reward for sin.
I also think “the love of this truth” is imparted by the Holy Spirit because it is not natural for us to love what is righteous.

It is important for us to have love and innermost desire for what God has to offer in order to spot and out whit any contradiction to the Word we know. It’s paramount in the last days because we will have had to memorize certain details as did the Christians before us… it will be necessary for the daily survival and triumph of a Christian even more so than it is today. Going from day to day knowing that you are opposing a common belief/practice for the grace of God and the furthering of His kingdom? We will need this love to holdfast, tight, like, “batty and bench”*, to our belief in God and His promises. “The love of the truth” also refers to His promises and favor shown to the men and women that preceded us.
This “love” is not a religion or a denomination. It is, to me, His word and His spirit that helps us translate, interpret, make sense of the seemingly placid stories and chronicles.
Even knowing Jesus’s lineage is a promise that He will reward those that love Him regardless of their pass or present sins. Knowing this reminds me that He is faithful and just, and worthy of all persecution we may face if the next face we see is His.
THat glory and beauty will out shine the horror of days to come.

The question as to “How can we learn, even now, to ‘receive the love of the truth?’ “, well responding to the question and following through with the response can be mutually separate. I guess I’ve known most of my life that, “we are to ask for God’s spirit into our lives”, and for it to take over our tendencies, and habits. I know that I have to “read my bible, pray everyday”, but what is that if we don’t seek the Lord in earnest and remember that faith is dead without works? So this recipe that I have constantly been told “is so simple”, as if it’s like boiling water, is in fact multifaceted and algorithmic in nature.

I do however remember learning from my infancy through songs that seeking God first, and His kingdom is how we grow to be interested, then like, love, and ultimately adore Him and His goodness and truth.
In the end i guess truth is not always pretty but growing to believe in a God more awesome than any earthly trial, pales in comparison to the counterfeit.
